Legal Center Opposes Prayers at El Paso County (CO) Board of Commissioners Meetings

December 12, 2012 -The Legal Center has demanded that the El Paso County (Colorado) Board of Commissioners discontinue their practice of opening county meetings with sectarian Christian prayers. The letter warned the county that its frequent mentioning of “Jesus” and /or “Christ” or “Your Son” in legislative prayers violates the Federal Establishment Clause as well as the Colorado Constitution.
The Legal Center is currently waiting for the county’s response.
